I have extensive experience working in the Smart Cities area. I spent 3 years leading the international research network that supported the Smart Cities Project, and have spent most of this decade working on innovation programmes that explore how to use data more efficiently and effectively.
I have set up and supported a number of innovation projects that explore how cities can use data more effectively to deliver better services for citizens – this has ranged from developing successful funding proposals – including OpeningUP, Like! and BLING – to providing ongoing delivery support to smart city projects, and to delivering public presentations and articles on Smart Cities.
Please join our Smart Cities group on LinkedIn – with almost 7,000 members it’s a great resource.
LIKE! has been developing new ways for cities and communities to use data – to design and deliver better services, and to make better policy decisions for communities.
The ‘Creating Digital DNA’ work in LIKE! has focused on 3 areas: 1) Digital dashboards, 2) Local data for local services, and 3) the Internet of things (IoT).
